Our History

1978

Our Beginning

First Baptist Church of Land O’ Lakes opened a day school on September 5, 1978 using A.C.E. curriculum specifically to serve the needs of FBCLOL families. Land O’ Lakes Christian School began with an enrollment of 23 students in Kindergarten through 7th grade, all being children of First Baptist Church of Land O’ Lakes members.

1990

Growing

In 1990, the school structure changed to the mainstream, traditional classroom school it is today. The program and facilites expanded in 1992 with a classroom/restoom addition and the addition of a K4 program.

2000

Building

In 2000, the school population continued to grow and the facility expanded to include a Fellowship Hall, 2 additional classroom spaces, an addition to our sanctuary, and a remodeled educational classroom building. In 2001, the school completed a large 8-room educational facility an updated primary-aged playground area, and added our high-school grades.

2005

Expanding

From our humble beginning to our current growth, two things have remained constant: our unwavering commitment to academic excellence grounded in the Word of God and the longevity of our faculty and staff. In 2005 we added our auditorium/gymnasium to house our ever-growing academics, arts and athletics.

2021

Gym Addition

Our new gymnasium expansion project gave us 5 more classrooms and a nice sized multipurpose room. It also includes a chair lift for handicapped access to the 6 classrooms that are located on the 2nd floor of the gym and gym addition

Coming Soon

The Courtyard

At the heart of the courtyard will be a meaningful tribute to our heritage featuring the original church bell from 1929, and the “Benji Bench,” a memorial honoring Benjamin Nichols, a 2020 LOLCS graduate and member of our maintenance staff. Thoughtfully designed this new courtyard will include shade, lighting, greenery, and designated gathering areas, enhancing both the beauty and functionality of our campus.
